Historic Herkimer County murder trial hits the stage

A historic Herkimer County murder trial is going Broadway. In 1906 Chester Gillette was convicted and executed for the murder of Grace Brown.
The murder drew national attention and became the basis for Theodore Dreiser's novel 'An American Tragedy.' That tale will be sung on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City on December 2nd.
The opera will help launch events for the murder's 100th anniversary in 2006."
